Meet the 2008 Coaching Team
Head Coach - Kristen Dunnigan
Coach
Kirsten will be returning for her second year with the Woodlea
Watermocs. She has been swimming all her life and is thrilled to
spend another summer coaching and sharing her love of the sport.
Coach Kirsten’s background includes over 11 years of swimming. She
swam summer league with Army Navy Country Club and coached the team
in ‘92. She trained with Curl-Burke USS team for over 7 years and
swam her first year at JMU. She also earned the honor of MVP both
her junior and senior year while swimming for Mclean High School.
She has competed in many open water swims in CA and VA/MD area
including the ’91 Chesapeake Bay swim and has completed a marathon
and Olympic distance triathlon raising money for blood cancer
research.
Coach Kirsten is also a registered nurse and an advocate for the
Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. She will participate in her third
endurance event this June biking 100 mile in Lake Tahoe raising
money for the society. Coach Kirsten is married to Patrick and they
have three children (Ashton, Meghan, and Kaitlyn).
