Garden Club

The Woodlea Garden Club is an educational organization offering presentations, workshops, and field trips to increase members’ knowledge of gardening, landscaping, flower arranging, crafting, good conservation practices and involvement in community service.

Meetings

Meetings are held at 9:00am at the Woodlea Clubhouse on the 3rd Tuesday of the month from September thru June (unless offsite as specified by program).

   Programs for 2008-2009 season:

  • October 21: Hillwood Garden and House Tour

  • November 18: Flower Arranging: Demonstrating and Judging

  • December 16: Holiday Luncheon

  • January 20: Presentation by Herb Guild member on growing and using herbs

  • February 17: Demonstration by Jennifer Morris, master floral designer

  • March 17: "All about Seeds" on location at home garden of Loudoun Master Gardener

  • April 21: "Secret Life of Bees" presentation by beekeeper

  • May 19: Field trip to local public garden

  • June 16: Annual business meeting, election and installation of new Officers

The Club donates time, treasure, and talents to the following as part of our Community Service practice:

  • Keep Loudoun Beautiful

Dues

Membership dues are $25 for the club year (September through June). Active members receive a discount card for local garden centers.

Special Recognition:

The Garden Club was recognized by the Leesburg Town Council and presented with a "Certificate of Appreciation" at the December 2006 Council meeting for their role in the decoration and garden restoration of Dodona.
